Bauhaus in Calcutta: an exhibition

This exhibition shows the transcultural art that has been made in the early twentieth century by both European and Indian artists.

For the Indian artists, creating art was a way to express their protests against the British colonisation. The European artists who contributed to the exhibition were looking for ways to deal with the rationality of the industrialisation after WWI. The exhibition is therefore not only interesting on an artistic level, but even more so on a political and international level.

Location: Bauhaus building, Gropiusallee 38, D-06846 Dessau, Germany

Admission: € 6,-/ € 4,-  (including permanent exhibition)

Opening times: 10 am – 5 pm
